(07/09/08) DOCK STAFF TRAINING

You may have noticed that classes were in session yesterday afternoon. In our continuing efforts to assure safety and professionalism at Robinhood, four of our dock staff attended a training session on docking techniques and safety given by Bruce Blessington, owner of the sailing vessel "Dress Blue", and Tom Donovan, our staff yacht handler. Bruce was kind enough to offer his Alden 45 as a practice vessel.

Bruce emphasized the "SPEC" Method which stands for Safety first and foremost, Plan (wind, tide, current, size), Execute the plan (repetition, technique), and Confirm the vessel is secure.

The picnic table and dockside lesson was videotaped. Skippers are welcome to view the one hour tape at the accounting office during normal business hours. The information Bruce and Tom offered could be as helpful for vessel operations as it has been for RMC staff.

(07/03/08) TONIGHT...SCOTT DAVIS QUARTET

The Scott Davis Quartet hits the gazebo from 4 to 7 this evening. Join Scott and his ensemble for an evening of fun and music.

And tomorrow, hear The Big Chips Trio crank it up for the Fourth of July.

We wish you a safe and happy weekend.

(07/01/08) BANDS ON THE 3RD AND 4TH.

Robinhood Marine Center welcomes the Fourth of July holiday weekend with bands on Thursday and Friday evenings.

Kicking off the weekend is the Scott Davis Quartet, a hot, versatile swing/jazz blues band led by one of Maine's most versatile jazz trumpet players. From quiet, tasty jazz in the corner to blowin' the roof off the place, you'll enjoy everything this hard swinging ensemble of seasoned musicians has to play.

On Friday, enjoy the eclectic mix of Earl Bigelow and the Big Chips Trio. Expect light jazz, adult contemporary and the vocals of Nancy Bigelow to sparkle the evening of the Fourth.

Join us this Thursday AND Friday from 4 to 7 for music, music, music.

(06/30/08) Market Boat

Just a reminder that Dave Berry and his Market Boat will be back at the docks beginning July 8. They arrive every Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. and are fully loaded with fresh organic produce, homemade pies, cakes, breads, jellies, dips, fresh cut flowers and more. You won't want to miss him

(06/27/08) SUMMER STARTS TONIGHT
