(08/01/08) SUMMERFEST TONIGHT

Bear and Dave maneuver the St Lawrence Skiff, aka the Beer Boat, into its honored position in front of the main offices in preparation for Summerfest which begins at five this evening (by invitation only). Mel Tukey and the Clam Flat Five will provide the musical entertainment.

(07/25/08) SCOTT DAVIS QUARTET TONIGHT

The Scott Davis Quartet returns for an encore performance this evening from 4:00 to 7:00 at the gazebo or in the library if the weather doesn't break. Bring snacks or pick up some appetizers at the Osprey and join us for some easy listening jazz to kick off the last week-end in July.

(07/23/08) Steve Williams..."Adventures in Robinhood"

Tonight in the Library at 7, long time Georgetown resident Steve Williams will present a Powerpoint presentation relating his boyhood experiences (some of them) in our facinating community. Join us and Steve for the second of our Wednesday night lecture series.

(07/16/08) TONIGHT: BOATBUILDING ON THE KENNEBEC

Famous thirteen year old Milo Stanley from Richmond, fresh from his appearance on Prairie Home Companion last week, heightens the sensory experience of the Market Boat visit yesterday with fiddle music. Milo may be on board with Dave next Tuesday, but he has August reserved for a trip to Turkmenistan with his fiddler group.

Tonight we kick off the Robinhood Marine Center "Lecture in the Library" series with Jon Johansen, publisher of the "Maine Coastal News" discussing "Shipbuilding on the Kennebec." Jon is an avid researcher with an extensive marine library. He will give an informative talk on the history of boatbuilding on the Kennebec River. Join us tonight at 7:00 in the Library (by the Chief).

(07/11/08) Salt Bay Jazz Quartet Tonight

Bring your picnic baskets, have dinner at the Osprey, or sit on the deck at the Tavern at Riggs Cove and enjoy the music of the Salt Bay Jazz Quartet led by the smooth sax of Liz Matta this evening at the Gazebo from 4 to 7. Joining Liz will be Doug Ludwig on keyboard, Chris Hight on guitar and vocals, and newcomer Ben Millett on drums.

Welcome Liz (also a member of the Edith Jones Project) and her band at the Gazebo at 4 this afternoon or in the Library if it rains.
