(08/28/08) NEW LIFE FOR OCEAN PLANET

"Ocean Planet", the 'round the world racer, visits the Robinhood Marine Center Q-hut for repairs to her deck, hull and keel and eventual launching for future use. Andy and Bruce Schwab lead the project.

(08/22/08) ELEVATOR PILOTS

This evening we welcome the return of the Elevator Pilots to our gazebo bandstand. The weather should be terrific so join them from 4:00 til 7:00 for jazz and more. Bring your picnic baskets and pot luck it.

(08/15/08) BAND TONIGHT...TUFF SKIRTS

We welcome back this year, by popular demand, the all-women jazz combo Tuff Skirts this evening at the gazebo or library depending on the weather. Tuff Skirts is led by vocalist Rebecca Wing of the band called the Edith Jones Project.

Their performance will continue from 4:00 to 7:00 and is free. The public is invited.

(08/13/08) LOBSTER TONIGHT

Jeff Morrison will be our speaker this evening in our weekly Lecture in the Library series. Jeff, co-owner of Small Point Fisheries, a lobster wharf in Phippsburg, will talk about how the lobster industry effects Maine's economy. Tonight at 7:00 in the Library.

(08/06/08) Shipwreck Lecture Tonight

Our Wednesday Night Lecture Series continues this evening with Georgetown historian Gene Reynolds speaking about the Mary Barrett and other local shipwrecks. Gene has a marvelous collection of stories and photos of the Mary Barrett and other area shipwrecks.
Lectures begin at 7:00 in the library. Come early as seating is limited.
